CLIMATE CHANGE: “…ACT BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.”

WASHINGTON D.C.

More than two deccades ago, Native Children’s Survival’s first music video campaign entitled “Is It Too Late” warned about the overwhelming threat of Climate Change and the need for the protection of the rights of Mother Earth. “People can you hear your momma crying feel the warning taste what she’s saying — People the hour is near do you know the game your playing — Will this be our fate — Is It Too Late”

– Robby Romero, Is It Too Late Global Forum World Broadcast Moscow 1990

Today, the President Of The United States echos these warnings of nature, Indigenous peoples and the spirit of our ancestors. “But for the sake of our children and our future, we must do more to combat climate change. Now, it’s true that no single event makes a trend. But the fact is the 12 hottest years on record have all come in the last 15. Heat waves, droughts, wildfires, floods — all are now more frequent and more intense. We can choose to believe that Superstorm Sandy, and the most severe drought in decades, and the worst wildfires some states have ever seen were all just a freak coincidence. Or we can choose to believe in the overwhelming judgment of science — and act before it’s too late.”

– President Barack Obama, State Of The Union 2013
